Welcome back everybody!!  By the looks of the traffic on US1, it seems we went from nobody here to full on return to season in a flash!  It’s great to have all of our winter visitors back, but our weather is handing us another big let down for one of our busiest weeks of the year.  Like much of the country, we have been experiencing record warmth and the party just came to an end with the arrival of a massive cold front.  We’re not going to see a huge dip in the air temperatures, but the wind that we find ourselves in looks like it will be here for a while and will restrict many of the normal water activities that are high in demand.

Fishing before the front has been excellent and we ought to see a huge push of migratory fish in our area once the winds lay down and we can get back out there again.  I want to remind my current customers to properly dress for the weather in layers and ask all members in your group about their tolerance to motion sickness.  I strongly advise everybody that is unsure of their proneness to motion sickness to take Non-Drowsy Dramamine or Bonine the day before and the morning of the planned trip.  Please follow the directions and take your meds accordingly.  It makes all of the difference in the world!!  For the next week I have been moving my trips around to the days that look the best, but realistically I expect it to be bumpy and I will do my best to give each trip the necessary care to put you in comfortable conditions and make it an enjoyable experience. Generally, there are a few places we can hide, but everything will be a compromise to continue operations in windy conditions.

In the water activities are not likely for the next week.  Lack of visibility due to the suspended sediment in the water and rough sea conditions will prevent us from having success in the water until the weather has a good chance to lay down for several days in a row.

I want to remind everybody that not all is lost and there is still options to get on the water.  I do have openings for inland canal cruises and sunset trips.  We can put-put around looking at houses and wildlife while we listen to music and share cocktails and stories.  It is an option that beats sitting around at home wishing you could go out!

I just wanted to get this out so everybody has a heads up.  I pride myself on offering high quality trips and this shot of weather is going to provide extra challenges and require more understanding and preparation for trips this next week or so.  Give me a call if you have any additional questions or concerns.  I look forward to getting you all out there and making the best of what we have to work with.
