3/15/2022 Slight Rate Increase

March 16th, 2022

WEll, it’s no secret that fuel prices have skyrocketed. That comes and goes. Fuel has gone from $3.20 a gallon to $6 a gallon at my marina. My boat gets 1.5 miles to the gallon. That means each mile is a minus for me in a significant way. It’s something I can’t cut corners on or refine to make it the same price. Before fuel went super expensive, my costs of operations going into 2022 went up 35%. I dealt with it the best I could.

Going forward, 3 hour snorkeling trips, 4 hour reef trips are increasing by $30.

5, 6 and 7 hour reef/wreck and offshore trips are increasing by $60. This is a median increase that just puts more balance into my profit/loss system of daily operations. It is not meant to push away clients. I have to manage my expenses. Fuel is the big one that has so many variables. This just helps protect me and will allow me to continue to serve you without cutting corners going into the near future.

It has been unusually tough this year with housing, grocery stores, replacing broken boat parts, home depot, west marine or anything related because life on an island chain at the end of a supply chain is challenging when all is operating well.

Fishing has been excellent. Wind has been significant for many many weeks now. The boat has been updated for a few months. Just has not been nice or had a moment to post pics for the website. Just been full throttle hectic for a long stretch now. All in a good way.

Ever have a trip where you are touching a free almost 10 foot long hammerhead shark? It does not happen often, but I’m up for it if you are! This happened for my customer’s birthday trip . He had at least 2 fin grabs just like this!

Just wanted to keep the information flowing. I wish it were better news!
