November 2020 Fishing and Activity Report

November is a highly anticipated month here in the Florida Keys because it marks change. The breaks in the heat are becoming more frequent, the water is cooling off and we are seeing the beginning of the migration of our winter species. The true challenge is describing day to day what the weather is going to be like or what species we will be targeting. There are so man...

October Can be Scary Fun

I think this might be my latest blog post ever! October has been a fantastic month of great fishing and adventures. We have also had some cooler weather to compliment most of our planned activities. This is a transitional month for our weather and the conditions can change significantly from day to day. Here is what to expect going forward and how to prepare.

So much to say, I don't know where to start. We have been really busy here. There has been a lot going on.

I have deleted many drafts of this and I am posting this super late because the topic is difficult. I have far too many people getting sick on my boat. I have a lack of customer preparation problem. There is a ...

Lobster Mini Season July Report

A rainy tropical wave put an end to my 49 day charter streak since we have reopened, allowing me to post an update. Yes, we have been busy, like as busy as we can handle for 2 months busy. I'll try to keep this report simple and informative.

The basics, we passed the last test today for closures. No, we will not close...

Mid July Report

I'm going to keep this report really simple. Things are ok here. All the things I had hoped for for a responsible reopening didn't happen, so we are month 2 into a new spring break like daily reality. Today is July 11th, so I'm on a 41 day stretch of charters in record heat. I'm really busy and it's really hot here with occasional doses of intense tropical rain events....

June Outlook

Who freaking knows, right??!!

Things are all out of sorts, but we are stronger and better than what is happening around us. Pretty nice option right now is to come visit the Florida Keys and put some distance on this nonsense.

Caged and Confused May Report

Here we are a week into May and I realized I haven't written my update. I sometimes get these out late because I'm so busy, but not so much the case this year. However, I am seeing an uptick in inquiries for charters here and there. I am finding that many people are unaware that the Keys have been closed to non residents for what seems like an eternity now. The current...

April Outlook

Well, what's happening sure got impactful quickly! My business is currently open for non-traveling locals. Everything going forward will be done with extra thought and consideration. I am still taking reservations for all dates. My lobster mini season dates are still currently open. You will need to fill out my contact form or call me to make a reservation for those d...

How To Choose A Charter Operator..That’s Legal

Full disclosure, I'm a legally operating charter captain in compliance since I started this business. My boat is permitted to participate in the fisheries I charter for. I am fully insured for my customers to do all of the activities I offer you and I am a legally operating my business in the state and county.
