Captain Kevin did an awesome job getting us on the fish. He took time to explain how and why things worked (or didn't) and coached you into getting it down pat so you got the whole experience. As experience fishermen from a different area it was great. We didn't want a whole hand-holding, spoon-fed, here's a rod with bait good luck catching something with the other 20 folks on the boat and maybe we will get around to helping you at some point charter. We wanted to be involved, not just sit and watch and he was fabulous at it! Plenty of yellow tail to take home, saw a lovely sea turtle, and he even got us a last minute request at permit fishing in! Back at the dock he whipped out the cleaning tools for the fish and I got to help fillet our catch for the day. Thank you for a memorable time Captain Kevin!

My greatest passion has always been sharks. I searched for someone who could take me on a shark expedition of any sort. After extensive searching, I found Kevin. I called him, and he explained the various options he could provide for a customized shark trip. I booked the trip, and I can confidently say it exceeded my expectations. We caught numerous sharks, and I was able to keep all the hooks as mementos of my adventure. Kevin remained very composed, even when some of the sharks put up a strong fight. I captured some fantastic videos and photos, getting up close and personal with these apex predators. Thank you, Kevin! I look forward to returning and booking another trip.

Captain Kevin was amazingly patient and a superb instructor. We took our 9 and 8 year old out with the hopes of catching a fish considering the conditions were not favorable. He even changed our time slot in hopes of better conditions. Having been in education for almost a decade, I can honestly say he was more patient and able to relay what they needed to do better than most of the coworkers I had. When they (and me) didn’t do something right he simply reiterated the process, never ever losing his composure. They caught so many fish and were so excited throughout the entire process. My son wore his wide brimmed hat, I’m only guessing this wouldn’t work well with the process but at one point I looked over and Captain Kevin had given his ballcap to him and carried on like it was nothing. So many little instances that I could mention If you have young ones and want to take them on an exciting and highly educational fishing experience, Captain Kevin is your guy.

Capt. Kevin is what I would call a master of his craft, he knows exactly where to be in order to put people onto fish. When he is in his boat he is all business, quick and efficient. I am a long-time customer of Kevin's. We've fished on his old boat, his new boat, my old boat, and my new boat for the last 15 years or so. We've done deep reef, offshore, wreck, patch reef, bay, snorkeling, and lobstering together. I know him well. I went yellowtailing with Kevin in October and was reminded why I keep going back. Let me tell you why: -His boat is well maintained and clean -His equipment works -He doesn't cheap out on bait, chum, sand, oats, jigs, hooks, etc. -He works his tail off--i can't emphasize this enough. -I learn something every time -We catch fish--a two man limit of flag snappers in an hour and a half on this latest trip I have fished a lot in my life, and I've fished in Marathon a lot. While you can get charters cheaper, you're not going to get a better-prepared, more professional captain who truly wants to help you and your group accomplish what you want to accomplish than with Kevin. If you're looking for a budget trip, with a captain who is better at telling jokes and showing you a good time but not producing, go elsewhere. If you are trying to fill a cooler with fish and really be a part of the action, go with Kevin. He will adjust to you if you need help and are new. He will push you if you are already experienced. You will get the trip YOU want if you communicate clearly and openly with him (a must). I disagree with those who characterize him as unfriendly or not talkative. He's a professional and doesn't make a lot of small talk unless you want to--he's focused on your trip, not his story. So ask him how he's doing if you want to talk. He has an interesting background, great passion, and is a true professional you can learn a lot from if you ask.

Had an incredible time on a Capt. Kevin's charter last Saturday. Kevin was great, worked nonstop baiting, and teaching a couple of novice fisherman. If you want to fish with someone who is extremely experienced, knows what he's doing and keeps your lines baited and in the water, Kevin is the man. PS we were the one's that caught the seagull on the line (he was safely freed by Kevin).

Honest review: Kevin is not the most talkative and he runs a tight ship, but this man worked so hard non stop to make our fishing trip a success! He was always doing something to get more fish to the boat and into our hooks. We caught a lot of fish thanks to the amazing efforts of Kevin. Also we were first time fishers and were a bit intimidated at first but Kevin explained well what we had to do and kept helping us until we got it. Can certainly recommend and if we ever come back to the keys we will be sure to go fishing with Kevin again.

My dad, sister, and I all went fishing with Captain Kevin during our vacation in Marathon Key. He was very knowledgeable and it was clear how much experience he had in the area. We caught lots of yellowtail snapper and it tasted incredible. Although he seemed quiet at first, he eventually opened up. I thoroughly enjoyed our trip and recommend booking him! He is worth the money.

Kevin is a great fishing guide. He will get fish in the boat. He will bait your hook, take the fish off the hook, and teach you how to fish his method that works. It was a lot of fun to actually fish for fish and not just snag them. His equipment is really good for a fishing guide. I have been on guided tour where I should have brought my own. He has top notch equipment that works very well. Overall he is a guy that loves fishing and will share his knowledge with you. Do what he says and you will catch fish.

4 of us went fishing for 4 hours Friday May 24. Captain Kevin was absolutely super. He worked SO hard to make sure we had a great experience. Did. Not. Stop. We caught 20 gorgeous yellowtail snappers. While he was fileting the fish, he taught our son how to filet as well. Very useful skill as our son is a marine biologist! Highly recommend. Kevins very patient and succinct in his guidance. Clean boat and knowledgeable. Book him!

Went out last Saturday for a morning of fishing. Kevin is a great guy and fisherman. Very knowledgeable and willing to teach the intricacies of yellow tail fishing. We limited out in no time and he taught me how to properly clean and care for the fish. It makes a huge difference in the flavor of the fish and keeps them firm. Captain Kevin was 11/10 today! Such a fabulous experience for my family (especially because we were very new to the whole fishing thing! ) His boat was clean and music jammin! He had very clear instructions and patience with our very not experienced selves!) My girls caught tons of snapper and had a blast! By the end of our trip they were really getting the hang of things! My husband even caught a Nurse shark! I thought that this was the coolest thing but Kevin said he was just a practice shark for the real thing! Just like in a movie, my husband then hooked a HUGE Lemon shark! Very strong and fast on the line and my husband did great with Kevin's coaching! Lucky duck! I have the coolest video of this whole experience! It wasamazing to see the shark up close and personal! Thanks a million for such an amazing experience!

We had a great day of fishing with Captain Kevin. After a day of heavy thunderstorms, we were not sure what to expect. First off, the boat is exceptionally clean. At the first spot, we caught a few yellow tail. Kevin made the call to move and we really got into the yellows. We also caught a nice Cubera, a decent Mutton, and broke a few off. At the end of the day we had 28 nice yellow tail, along with the other snappers mentioned above. Thanks for great trip!

Just finished 3 days in 3 different settings, and took my wife a couple years back, so I am a return client. Kevin was referred to me by another local guide, who I have also been fishing with. Kevin is a very knowledgeable captain who has excellent attention to detail, and a very firm understanding of multiple fisheries in the area. The boat is great, smooth, quiet, safe, and very well thought out on rigging. Captain Kevin himself is very safe, on time, reliable, hardworking and does not waste time on your trip. He’s fit, can change set ups efficiently, and really has a good system down. In response to some of the negative reviews, all I will say is that if you have any degree social IQ and awareness, and any experience managing complex processes with the general public, you will totally understand this guy! There are so many ways it can go wrong, and just let this captain coach and guide you to avoid the myriad of complications that can arise, and you will be a better sportsman from learning from him. I know I have. He was awesome with my wife, and like any good coach should, he won’t watch you continue to make mistakes and not tell you, THAT is a disservice to someone who wants to be better at whatever they are doing… If you want to catch fish safely and efficiently, I highly recommend.

We had a great time, and caught some lobster! Captain Kevin had some great spots. Not everybody on our trip was experienced or physically able to catch their limit, but everybody has a great time, and we caught enough by the end of the trip for an epic family lobster feast.

My son and I had a blast with Captain Kevin! Capt was so attentive to my 5.5 year old my son who had the time of his life, who must have asked me at least a dozen times the last few days, when are we going back out. My son asked to catch 40 fish and Capt delivered, with 9 nice keepers for enough fish tacos for days. His boat is gorgeous and feels like you are gliding on the water as it handles waves with no regard. Capt made the trip very enjoyable, on top of my son's request for music by AC/DC, and made lasting memories for this father and son! If you came down to the Keys to catch fish, then this is the charter for you. Captain Kevin is a extremely proficient at his art, and you will go home with some of the most delicious fish you’ve ever tasted. One thing to note: listen to everything he tells you to do. There’s a strict formula you need to follow if you want to catch fish as cutting corners will just be frustrating for everyone, haha. My Dad and I did two half days and had a blast. Kevin played some great music and was very attentive every bit along the way. I can’t wait to come back next year and do it all again!

Captain Kev is AMAZING. After a lot of thought we decided to go private, it was the best decision and experience we have ever had . Kevin gave my husband the socks off his own feet so his snorkel fins would fit , literally. How awesome is that ? We experienced fishing , snorkeling the reefs, we held starfish, conches, saw manta rays , dolphins , barracudas , gigantic eels. As business owners ourselves , we appreciate how much he prides his work , boat, customers, we also loved the fact he does not like snotty children on his boat , or anyone for that matter , bc we loathe being around germs as well, who wants to get sick ?! Kevin is exactly the Captain you want for any charter. He was fantastic and has an excellent boat. It was our first time lobstering and he taught us how to do it. Great communication, knowledge, and preparation were very important for success. If you are ready for it Captain Kevin has the experience and tools to put you on them and give you the chances to bring up many LOBSTER! I'm glad I practiced based on his required expectations, researched the materials he suggested ahead of time, and learned his techniques out there--they really made a difference. Even with my experience freediving it was a bit challenging but also a lot of fun and anyone that can swim down 12ft can do it--although my average-shape 56 year-old father was winded rather quickly. Overall highly recommended! 👍👍👍This trip met all my expectations and more. It was a privilege to do that as no one else offers it at all, especially not for his prices! However for lobstering specifically I'd advise to come prepared or don't come at all. I set my expectations to have one chance and maybe catch one and we ended up catching our limit by listening and Kevin going above and beyond. Thanks and hope to see you next year!

If you are looking for an experience focused on catching fish, Reel Adventures is perfect for you. Captain Kevin is purely dedicated to providing opportunities to catch fish and shows you how to do it. We went reef and wreck fishing in June. This was our 2nd fishing trip with him and we hope to do it again in the future. He is all business and knows where the fish are and tells you on his website what you need to do to prepare for the the trip. On our trip, another boat snatched up his spot for yellow snapper, and he adapted and found a new spot where we caught many yellow tail. It rained on and off throughout the trip but he had rain coats available for us and we had fun with it. As an added bonus, we saw multiple rainbows. We caught a mutton snapper and multiple almaco jacks. We shipped our catch back home through Brutus Seafood Market and now have a bunch of fish in the freezer.

This was this HIGHLIGHT of our week long trip to the Keys. Captain Kevin puts in the work before, during and after the trip!! His website is so detailed and makes preparing for this trip a BREEZE!! This was our first time ever doing any ocean fishing, but we chose to do the offshore charter — this is not for the faint of heart!! You will learn so much from Captain Kevin while he works right along side you! He had so much patience with us! Despite being new to this, we ended up with 12 total fish because of his guidance and expertise. He even made us some sushi while filleting our fish! Captain Kevin took us out cruising around the Marathon area (it's what we asked for). We got a fabulous day, Kevin preps you for the day, make sure you have sunscreen, sun shirts etc. Kevin took us to a bay where we floated and enjoyed conversations and beverages, then Kevin asked if we would be interested in seeing Sharks? Umm, ya that'll be cool, we crusied about 20miles, he set out chum, we started seeing Sharks, Kevin asked if we wanted to try catch one, hey why not. The Ladies on the boat got to reel a lemon and a nurse shark so cool both got released .

We had so much fun on this family outing (6 adults)! Kevin was amazing. Captain kevin is awesome. My wife and i went out with him. he uses light weight gear so you can really enjoy the fishing.we caught our tuna limit in the first 30 minutes and then we chased down some dolphin pulled 3 in the boat! What a great trip and a great Captain will be back for sure!

Capt. Kevin took me out to the reef for a little fishing and it was a BLAST! We saw so many colorful fish and even a shark. Catching the fish was the most fun though. It took no time at all to catch our limit. After we caught all the fish we went for a little snorkel at the reef and learned more about the Florida keys ecosystem. It was an amazing day!

Captain Kevin has taken me out in the past on numerous occasions. From fishing to hanging at the sandbar. Always a REEL great time. Capt Kevin again this year for my birthday. I was worried I wasn't going to have a real birthday this year because of the virus. I chartered him a few years ago for a mermaid photo shoot and wanted something similar. He took us out to a beautiful island and we had the most perfect day. He has a very nice bigger boat that had room for all of our stuff. Even a fresh water shower and a bathroom. His last boat didn't have that. He was a great captain and made sure everything was taken care of so we could relax. If you are into the mermaid thing, this was a really fun way to celebrate my birthday. Capt Kevin worked so hard to make my trip awesome again! I'm bringing a bigger group next year!!

Fantastic day on the water with Captain Kevin hooking us up with a lot of different species. This Captain knows his boat- knows it's gear & knows his fish. He is glad to teach you about how to get the fish on and why they bite where they do. A no-nonsense guy who knows his boat in his business. 👍 Great playlist as well 🎵.
