Snorkeling fun after some fishing today. Yup! My peeps swam with a turtle, a shark and saw a big moray eel.

Some days easy is hard and the sand bar is a great option. Clear water, a little sea weedy and 85 degrees. Pretty nice for most….most.

Finished 2 recent reef trips spending a little time targeting these light tackle gladiators. It’s nice to fight the fish and not crowds of silly boaters. #permit #flkeysfishing #bucketlist✔️ #quickandeasy #cmor

A tale of 2 trips. It great to get the kids out for easy fun fast paced action. If you want to check some bigger fish boxes, some more patience, time, skill sets and strength is required. Adjust accordingly and it all works out. #familyfishing #kidsfishing #flkeysfishing #permit #catchoftheday

A little “jumpy/bumpy today, but we got a birthday trip in with good success.

For the fans of my business page, this is part B to the grouper post on my personal page. The grouper I shot the other day was just a little over legal size. It has great value as an educational tool. I no longer offer spearfishing trips, but I do spear with friends that are part of the learning process. Responsibly and respectfully using our resources makes us all stewards of the resource. Nobody wants to shoot a short fish and have it wasted to error. Split second decisions underwater come with experience, which takes lots of time. So, having a just legal fish to hold, to feel and spend some time with has value. Mazie did an A+ job cleaning this fish, but she had some external pressure that was quite comical. Just another funny Florida Keys moment to share with you. This little bird has befriended me and will be in future posts if he decides to stay local. #crownedheron #grouperfillet #cleaningfish #dexterknives #knifeskils

Current situation. Snorkel and sandbar trip today. Had 50’ of blue vis on the reef with 81 degree water. Sandbar tide going out to low low with almost 88 degree water. Get your summer fun on fishing, snorkeling, sandbaring and all kinds of fun #sandbar #sandbartrips #snorkeling #flkeys #familyfunday

I enjoy putting a wide variety of guests on an entry level reef fishing trip. Whether you’re just barely tall enough to see over the side of the boat or old enough to remember when gas prices were in “cents”, I can put together a successful trip for your group. #ReefFishing #yellowtailsnapper #parrotfish #flkeysfishing

I don’t know how to explain my posts anymore. On here, yes, it’s for self promotion of and for my business. It is way beyond a business. It’s a lifestyle that is so intertwined with many other lives and businesses. It’s really hard to sum up in a single or daily post. There is just so much more to everything that can be shown. Thank you for all that are a part of my matrix. So, fish broth, charter this morning, speared my way home instead of rolling up my windows. Shot some really nice fish. Rain stings way more than I remember. My new Riffe top is awesome and kept me warm in the rain. Boat got a free wash on the ride in and so did the inside of my truck. More like my truck has puddles inside of it and smells like a wet dog lives in there. All an be fixed tomorrow. #islandlife #flkeys #charterfishing #damnrain #blackgrouper #riffe #sailfishboats #engelcoolers

When we work through a trip my plan is to stair step through success. Here in the Keys we have great fisheries. Our water is clear and our fish are smart. Everything is on a schedule, process and timeline. There is no day you step on a professional court or arena as a layman and you keep pace or excel. I like to build as we go. It’s an organic process. It’s different every trip. When the chemistry and ingredients are synced up, we pivot and spend time fishing for the right one. This scenario early in a trip in the hands of an excited angler is mostly a fail. I’ve done it myself plenty of times and failed. Tricking a clear water giant reef mutton snapper is a work of art A-Z. It’s math, statistics and art in a blender of variables. This snapper was with us most of the trip. Everything lined up and on the lightest tackle possible we got the bite. We is you. You are doing the angling on my trips. You mess this up. It will be clear. You hit your marks, level up, execute and this is a possibility. This was landed on half of the line strength I would feel good about. My angler knew what he did. This is the reward for all the times I have seen it go wrong. Listen. Learn. Execute. These are one chance trip defining moments. The rod is always in your hand. Everything that happens matters. I’m very proud of this moment. 99% of the time, the public does not see the positive outcome. Mostly the moment is too important for me to film. We crushed it today, so I wasn’t worried at this point. This is what a light tackle best looks like when you earn every once of it. The vibe is all there.🙌💪 #muttonsnapper. Those wind downs won this war. Fresh water anglers pay attention. This is the difference in winning and losing. Wind down speed. Clutch move. #talkingheads #engelcoolers #columbiasportswear #pumpandwind #lighttackle

What a very last minute sandbar/sunset trip looks like. We checked a lot of boxes and made a special unplanned evening. A good heads up is helpful, but I’m sort of mostly ready. #sandbar #sunsetcharter #flkeys

A couple of highlights from the tarpon tournament last week. I was hoping to catch a few more fish, but the good company and beautiful conditions made up for it.

Just getting around to edit some content from last week. Here's a little permit coming aboard out of the most blue water you can imagine

A couple of pictures from the McDonalds tarpon tournament. My teams were great and we executed with great precision through a generally slow bite.

11

Running in from day 2 of the tarpon tournament vibes were high. Night was beautiful. My guest anglers were great. Everyone released a fish.

15

Morning trips are best, afternoon trips, night trips, reef, deep dropping, tarpon tournament…. All a part of what I have done the past few days. It’s been hectic on top of hectic. My schedule slows down a bit coming up. Give me a text, call or email. I would love to get you out on a custom trip that fits your group. I kinda do it all if it is fun.

Getting them on 2nd night of the tarpon tournament. Got 2 releases with time on the clock….#mcdonaldstarpontournament

Great reef trip where we worked through some shark issues to make a great catch. Had a friendly visitor and finished landing a permit. The forecast looks to be amazing near term.

When the water gets this clear fishing can get pretty tough. Go light to get the bite, but go for a ride when you hook a good one. I had plenty of time to start the camera after this one dumped most of the line off the reel and miraculously stayed out of the reef. #yellowjack No, we didn't bring the net today.

Been an exciting action packed weekend checking all of the activity boxes. Light tackle reef fishing, offshore, snorkeling and sandbar. Just all good times! #charterfishing #marathonfishingcharters #familyfishing #flkeysfishing #sailfishboats

Diversity has dominated the past week. Game plans change with the weather and conditions. We have fished in the calm on the bay side, shark fished in the shallows, snorkeled the reef, relaxed at the sandbar and plan to head offshore after a little reef fishing tomorrow morning. It’s a great time of year to be on the water in the Florida Keys!

Watch a little shark wrangling action by my guests yesterday. We caught and released a bunch of toothy critters.

Quality family fishing spring break trips, even in this wind. No problem. Comfortable conditions and lots of action for the kids to keep their attention. Openings this weekend #flkeys #charterfishing #SpringBreak2026 #familyfishing #sailfishboats

Look what legitimately scared me today on my charter. Not an April fools joke. I stopped and grabbed my phone immediately because I knew nobody on board would believe me. This was before the 4 sonic booms scared the crap out of us on my afternoon trip. What would you have done?. #aprilfool #icaughtyou #sailfishboats #charterfishing #springbreak2026

I was excited to get some guest pics from the last few trips. Then the internet effect kicked in. Feel free to enjoy that I operate great trips or you can measure my fish and make snarky comments about how superior you are out of context or be a complete hypocrite. Your choice.

So thankful my last 2 trips my guests sent me some pictures and videos. I have my hands full when the action is hot, so I rely on others to have more comprehensive content than dead fish on a fillet table. This video is the end of a family bay snapper trip that we agreed to escalate dramatically. Team work landed this 300lb bull shark in 25 minutes. Very impressive!!! #sailfishboats #springbteak2026 #bullshark #catchandrelease #floridakeysreeladventures

Waited out the rain and got in some good action deep reef to shallow reef. Fished our way back as the wind picked up today. On my trips you are actively involved in the whole process. We learn and earn

My young lady anglers were excited for their first ocean fishing adventure today. I set some high goals for their trip and together we crushed it. Adults cranked on and landed a monster bull shark in record time . Great team effort today. Hope to get some amazing pics

Families are here visiting the Florida Keys and despite the windy conditions, catching has been great. With younger kids and new anglers big seas are not an option. I have been fishing the shallows and we have been catching everything to make great trips with great catches. No customer pictures shared for a while now, so this is an idea of what is going on out there. #familyfishing #springbreak2026 #kidsfishing #fishingcharters #flkeysfishing
