Morning trips are best, afternoon trips, night trips, reef, deep dropping, tarpon tournament…. All a part of what I have done the past few days. It’s been hectic on top of hectic. When the water gets this clear fishing can get pretty tough. Go light to get the bite, but go for a ride when you hook a good one. I had plenty of time to start the camera after this one dumped most of the line off the reel and miraculously stayed out of the reef. #yellowjack No, we didn't bring the net today.

Diversity has dominated the past week. Game plans change with the weather and conditions. We have fished in the calm on the bay side, shark fished in the shallows, snorkeled the reef, relaxed at the sandbar and plan to head offshore after a little reef fishing tomorrow morning. It’s a great time of year to be on the water in the Florida Keys!

Look what legitimately scared me today on my charter. Not an April fools joke. I stopped and grabbed my phone immediately because I knew nobody on board would believe me. I was excited to get some guest pics from the last few trips. Then the internet effect kicked in. Feel free to enjoy that I operate great trips or you can measure my fish and make snarky comments about how superior you are out of context or be a complete hypocrite. Your choice.
So thankful my last 2 trips my guests sent me some pictures and videos. I have my hands full when the action is hot, so I rely on others to have more comprehensive content than dead fish on a fillet table. This video is the end of a family bay snapper trip that we agreed to escalate dramatically. Team work landed this 300lb bull shark in 25 minutes. Families are here visiting the Florida Keys and despite the windy conditions, catching has been great. With younger kids and new anglers big seas are not an option. I have been fishing the shallows and we have been catching everything to make great trips with great catches. Another breezy Keyzy day today. Kept it in the calm and put on a light tackle clinic catching some of the best eating fish. When I share pics of what we catch on my trips I am promoting my business to hopefully obtain more business. Make sense? Stayed out of the wind today and put together a great shallow water catch. Lost our share of big fish on light tackle, but what is the challenge if you catch them all? Great day yesterday. Plan was to catch dinner, catch a wide variety of fish and get something big. Only got a few pictures and catching me does not count!
My business is a story that is impossible to briefly sum up. My guests today chose to come to see me….me, this guy over going to the Super Bowl. They even drove down from Islamorada, which sucks. I’m not a sports fan of stuff like that, but seriously. Really? I guess so. I found this out well into the trip. I wanted to make sure they did not make a choice that fell short of their, well, an interesting choice. I recalculated some swings for the fence and it was going just better than meh until this moment. This moment actually happens a good amount of times, but it is on a camera I do not own. That content never gets back to me. Today I left my work space, maneuvered to the dash and grabbed my phone because I was certain this would end well. Don’t give up. Work together. You two got this! This is an example of how it goes, but rarely is it seen. We had a lot of moments today. This was our Super Bowl.
